Carry-Out

Live Oak's "Carry-Out" training program provides opportunities for individuals or groups from other agencies or private practice settings to consult with a Live Oak trainer to develop a training topic of their choice. The purpose of the "Carry-Out" program is to enhance training/workshop planning, delivery, and evaluation skills for professionals who wish to facilitate training at their own agencies or as an independent trainer. Topics and areas that may be addressed in the Carry-Out program include, but are not limited to:

  • Topic selection
  • Conducting a review of research/incorporating current research into a workshop
  • Designing experiential and learning activities
  • Developing workshop objectives
  • Understanding adult learners
  • Using humor constructively
  • Dealing with challenging participants
  • Evaluating workshop effectiveness
  • Videotaping/rehearsing workshops
  • On-site observation and feedback
  • Developing cohesive/relevant participant materials and handouts
The Carry-Out program is individually designed based on the specific needs of the agency or program. The final product may be a workshop, series of workshops, or enhanced workshop delivery skills that an individual or agency may "carry out" to their location or setting. To schedule an initial interview or for more information, contact Jeff Levy, LCSW, CTRS at 773.880.1473 or via e-mail at jlevy@liveoakchicago.com.
